The Oregon Home Care Commission (OHCC) will be presenting a new member orientation for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) who support persons with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

When:

Thursday, January 14th, 2014. From 1 PM to 4 PM.

SEIU Local 503 Union Hall
6401 SE Foster Rd
Portland, OR

Who should attend:

• Personal Support Workers (PSWs) working with people with IDD who have a provider number and would like to be referred for work.
• All PSWs who provide support to someone receiving State Plan Personal Care (PC 20) mental health services.

Purpose:

This orientation provides an introduction to working as a PSW and the process as of today. Other topics includes benefits PSW Training, the Registry and Referral System, Enhanced and Exceptional Worker Program, Worker’s Compensation, health insurance benefits, and more. Representatives from SEIU will be present at the orientation and will provide a 20-minute Union presentation.
